Hikes in Guam (aka waterfall heaven)

Sella Bay

Take Marine Corp Drive to the Naval Base then turn left. Drive for about 10 minutes until you see the first scenic overlook on the right. There are stairs that lead down to the trail head. It’s about an hour hike down to the natural bridge and beach. Very secluded and perfect water for swimming (not shallow). Make sure to bring water shoes, bug spray, water and snacks on the hike!

Fonte River Damn

This is a short hike near Flag Circle, Asan. Its about 45 minutes to the dam and a fairly flat hike. Once you make it to the dam if you go 10 minutes past it there is a swimming hole. This is the perfect hike for small children and furry friends!

San Carlos

If you type in San Carlos on google maps it will take you directly to the trailhead. The hike is about an hour each way and fairly easy. There are points in the hike where you’ll need to use ropes to get down the steep trail. Bring gloves if you have them and enjoy the beautiful waterfall at the bottom!

Malojloj

This is a really easy 30 minute hike to a beautiful waterfall. According to the locals this is one of the best falls to jump from. Located on the North side of the island, the parking coordinates are 13°17'39.7"N 144°45’12.0”E. If you type this on google maps, it’ll take you to the exact location. You’ll need someone who is familiar with the trail to ride you, as it is not marked very well. Enjoy!

Inarajn Falls

This is a 7 mile moderately difficult hike. The trail is marked but there are several different routes that could be misleading. Again, it’s best to travel with a local. The hike includes a large waterfall as well as trails through “mars”. You can park at the Inarajan middle school to start the trek.

Priest Pools

This isn’t really a hike, but a 0.6 mile walk to a series of pools overlooking the coast. It’s a beautiful place to hangout and watch the sunset. If you type in Priest Pools on google maps it will take you to the exact parking location.

1000 Steps

Also a fairly easy hike, 1000 steps is exactly what is says. There are 1000 steps down to the eastern coastline. The trail is easy to spot and not too difficult. This is a beautiful place to watch the sunset and just chill out. Be sure to bring a towel to sit on, the limestone cliff edges are pretty sharp!

Pagat Cave // Arch

If you type Pagat Cave in on Google maps it’ll take you to the parking location. There is no trail head sign but the trail is very visible. You’ll want to do this hike with a local, like the rest. there’s a few different marked paths that can be misleading. You’ll want a headlamp for the cave and good hiking shoes, the cave is mainly water. This is a touristy destination but it's still a must see! If you go past the cave there is a coastal view with a beautiful arch. Be careful hiking over here, the surf can be intense!

This hike starts at Inarajan Middle School. The trail is marked well but there are many misleading paths so take a local with you! Once you get to your destination, you’ll see a few waterfalls and what looks like a scene out of peter pan. It’s a stunning view of the water and there’s also a hammock and swing to play on. This hike is very easy and only about a mile each way.
